Wow! Brilliant. I will share the abstract (yours not the "bot" one :-) ) on facebook groups. I firmly believe that showing people how the magic trick is done like this is key to waking people up to the propaganda and censorship tricks! Criticism and questioning is not dis/mis/mal/information!

This is such important work that you've done. Thank you for staking this strong and revealing position about censorship, its perpetrators, and its victims, and its implications. In Dune, it was said that fear is the mind-killer, the little death.

Fear of being able to speak the truth is something that could crush the individual human spirit, and even whole human civilizations. Fear-based totalitarian systems are to be fought against by as many as possible, everywhere as possible, and for as long as possible.

This piece you put together is an important force-multiplier for the ability to speak truth to power.

Thanks again.

Perhaps we need a scientific paper explaining how professional organizations were all captured!? ;-) Downloaded the paper and shared a link on social media. Thanks.

A bit surprised this got past the censors to be published, but very glad it did.

Kudos.

How ironic?!

The paper is part of a special issue. As such, the peer review process was managed by the editors of the issue, not the journal. I think that helped. The journal could still retract it. Now THAT would be ironic. But I don't think it will because nobody really gives a shit about what social scientists have to say. We are not viewed as a threat.

I read it immediately all the way through, and promoted it on my social media account. I also told people to download it, just in case it gets 'retracted'....

Easy to follow, great documentation, and (speaking as an academic editor) first-rate English.

More importantly, the ethical crisis is clearly exposed, front and center. Finally.

And -- I'm proud that the people who took this bull by the horns are mostly fellow Israelis. Kol Hakavod!

Thank you! Two of us are native English speakers, so I'm relieved the English is first-rate! :)

It's not always the case with native Anglos... and even when the English is technically correct, the message can get lost in the weeds ;)

Hope your paper goes far and wide!

Thanks for the paper, Josh.

Those of us who watched this as it unfolded, learned very quickly to download anything and everything before it was censored in one fashion or another.

Suspicion of "The Narrative" is growing in the minds of the masses, and now we're left contemplating the potential damage that the backlash will cause, however necessary that backlash may be.

The other paper you link to, the one promoting conspiracy theories (yes, that's what it does,) is fascinating for its insidiously malevolent technique. I suppose I could make the effort to obtain full access, but the abstract contains a sufficiently unsupportable array of assertions for me to take its absurdity as read.

The damage of the backlash is already manifesting itself. Increasingly, I'm observing ordinarily reasonable people exhibit symptoms of post traumatic anxiety, drawing conclusions from often-spurious correlations and divining intent from transparent opportunism.

In my opinion, that makes the work you're doing even more important. What is required, is a cold accountability, fairly, logically and reasonably applied, not some sort of inchoate witch hunt. Only the sort of documentation your paper provides, will meet the need.

Of further interest is the current methodology employed in reinforcement of the adaptive learning program used to force acceptance of the various diktats employed over the last several years. I refer to the "advance/retreat" technique. The uniquely vulnerable emotional state experienced upon cessation of threat is being exploited quite effectively.

Thanks again for the work you're doing.

Is anyone aware of any group of sociologists who as come forward in support of medical freedom? I’ve been looking to connect as a group. Not a single one of my peers that I’m in touch with appears to be in any way critical of the response. They and the world need to see we don’t all agree w this insanity. I was so disgusted to see the ASA’s policy for in person attendance at the annual meeting. Just disgusted. It’s unreal to me.

No, I'm not aware of any. In fact, I can only think of 1 or 2 who I know of who have openly expressed criticism of it. At least with economists there was some public grumbling when they demanded 3 jabs for their annual conference coming up in January.

Anyway, feel free to connect by e-mail if you want: joshg99<at>gmail<dot>com

Harrm, I never got an e-mail from you. Question: would you be interested (and do you have the relevant expertise) to advise Steve Kirsch on his surveys and especially to explain to him the inevitable criticism he will get about various kinds of bias, like recency bias, and perhaps even help him improve his survey design?

I emailed twice a few weeks apart. I wonder if they got hung up in a spam filter or something. I can try from my gmail account. But yes and yes. I'd love to be part of an effort to improve survey design. I do have some survey design expertise.

I read it last night and have to firstly say what a very well presented and organised piece of writing. Your style made easy, but impactful reading. Many journal articles can make you feel you are wading through treacle. Not this one.

Secondly I was so very very uplifted to see that you completed this research and got it published. Well done to all involved. I have downloaded it and will share far and wide.

On the matter of sociology - I am currently in my second year at university in the North of England as a mature student studying sociology. I have to confirm that academia has definitely been captured especially in this discipline. Interwoven into every piece of content is far left rhetoric, net zero and any other neoliberist doctrine you care to think of. They hate the police, think imprisonment for crime is inhumane, and we should take anyone from anywhere who wishes to come here and access our social care and benefit systems, end of. I listen (and challenge, they don't like me 😆) whilst at the same time they were ready to marginalise and discriminatie against people based on personal health choices and bodily autonomy. Their hypocrisy makes my head hurt, just as you describe at the conference their ignorance and hubris knows no bounds. On a personal level all of this has altered my path and I no longer wish to be in this toxic environment. I engage with the university environment as little as possible. They only thing keeping me going is my own objective to achieve my qualification. It has all been an extremely disappointing experience.

Universities like to self select for uncritical thinkers, sociology also in thrall to the state and the money. Yes, Deeply disappointing. Conference normies boosting and masking get the gaslight not the limelight!! The conference fascist security enforcer thing, is, a wow, with a parallel behavior here in little nz where ‘educated’ normies controlled, and appointed themselves as ‘enforcers’ at some local election gatherings … strict masking, a not so clever tactic in the end as their chosen ones failed. Humans are smarter than Uni bots.

I’m blown away by how alienated I feel from the field in which I’ve spent more than two decades. I’m embarrassed by what has become the orthodoxy in sociology. Thank you for having the courage to speak up and publish this important work!! Having this in the peer reviewed literature is so important.

Fact-check:

A poll taken during the American Sociological Association annual meeting showed that all sociologists deem the COVID-19 vaccines as 100% safe and effective, and say that calling them gene therapies can harm public's trust in the vaccines.

This was a survey AT the ASA annual meeting? The only ones there were willing to be fully jabbed and masked for the whole thing so of course it misses any of us who would refuse to attend such a discriminatory event. Blech. I have been wondering if they got any pushback at all beforehand. Possibly not.
